If you wear hijab you are already representing islam so be a Muslim who is a true believer. A Muslim is someone who believes that Allah is the one true God, and Muhammad is His messenger. When you live obeying Allah, and according to the sunnah of Muhammad as how Allah instructed us, you are then a good representation of Islam. Once you wear your hijab you already have already started your obligation of dawah.
Each time that you go out to school, mall, work or any public place you are already spreading the message of Islam. When people see you wearing hijab, the first thing that they will observe is not the look of your face but your identity as a Muslim. People will observe you, the way you act, walk, speak, and talk to them and when you live according to the sunnah, they’ll recieve the true message through your actions. Hijab is not only an outer covering but also a sign of modesty of behaviour. When a woman avoids flirting, limits physical contact, and is reserved, people may become curious of what this intriguing faith really is. Isn’t that your hijab became a way of inviting them to know Islam?
At the University where I once studied, which is a Jesuit university, my classmates always were interested to discuss about my hijab. Questions arise when they see me covered while they wear revealing and shorter clothes and are sweating, they could not stop themselves to ask me about what I feel. Then, discussion will go on until they become interested of Islam and they will ask further questions. If I chose not to wear hijab as how other ‘Muslims’ do in that university for their own reasons, I would miss these wonderful opportunities to share the beauty of my religion. I am happy that with that 2 years stay in that university where Muslims are so few, i had the chance to spread the words of Islam in the effort I could.
We should be happy to be Muslims. We should also be thankful to Allah for the wonderful gift he has given to all of us which is the perfect guidance, which is Islam, to paradise. Be aware of the other destruction deluded by Satan to misguide us. We are all responsible to spread the message of Islam, to deliver it to the most of our ability, to those who are in need of true guidance. As Muslim women we are more blessed to be given the opportunity to wear the beautiful hijab wherever we go, because it has not just protected and honored us but also an effective tool in fulfilling our obligation which is dawah.
